CEM took over the organisation of the Bournemouth Hotel & Catering Exhibition in July 1997 on a management basis on behalf of Bournemouth Council and 3663 (then Booker Foodservice). In 9 years it has grown from 70 exhibitors in one hall to 200 exhibitors across two of the newly refurbished and extended halls at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC).
The show, now called the Hotel & Catering Show, is the only UK trade show on the South Coast dedicated to the hospitality, tourism and leisure industry and attracts 3000 trade buyers on average each year. This annual regional trade show for the hospitality industry is now in its 55th year and will be held at the BIC on 13th & 14th March 2012.
The Hotel & Catering Show hosts the Wessex Salon Culinaire, an essential and encouraging platform for UK, regional and local chefs to compete. The classes are designed to attract newcomers as well as veterans.
